Pack your bags ya’ll – Just because its nearing the Fall season doesn’t mean there isn’t time for more camping.

Kitsap County has a wide variety of camping options to choose from. Whether you're looking for a secluded spot in the woods or a campground with all the amenities, you're sure to find something to your liking.

Here are a few of the best camping spots in and near Kitsap County:

  • My personal favorite, Kitsap Memorial State Park. The park is is a 63-acre (25 ha) public recreation area located on the Hood Canal, 7 miles north of Poulsbo. The park offers 1,797 feet of shoreline and activities that include picnicking, camping, hiking, scuba diving, fishing, swimming, clamming, crabbing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and field sports.

  • Illahee State Park is a popular spot for camping, swimming, fishing, and boating. The park has over 1,700 feet of saltwater frontage and offers a variety of campsites, including some with stunning views of the Puget Sound.

  • Manchester State Park is a smaller park with a more rustic feel. The park offers tent and RV camping, as well as a variety of hiking trails. Manchester State Park is also a great place to go fishing and birdwatching.

  • Scenic Beach State Park in beautiful Seabeck, A short drive from Bremerton, Scenic Beach State Park is the quintessential out-in-the-country neighborhood park. This dog friendly park is a 121-acre camping park with 1,500 feet of saltwater beachfront on Hood Canal.

These are just a few of the many great camping spots in and near Kitsap County. When choosing a campsite, be sure to consider the type of camping experience you're looking for. If you're looking for a campground with all the amenities, be sure to book your reservation in advance. If you're looking for a more secluded experience, consider camping in a dispersed camping area.
